Learn to Skate Instructor
The Learn to Skate Instructor is focused on helping individuals develop fundamental skating skills in a fun and safe environment at Brandon’s Community Sportsplex. This position involves preparing individual program plans, instructing skating programs and evaluating the progress of program participants while promoting interest and encouraging participation in program activity. Instructors work to ensure that participants have a positive experience and are performing the skills in a safe manner as set out in the established programs.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Emergency First Aid and CPR C Certification within 60 days of appointment;
Successful completion of Child Abuse Registry Check and Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Person’s Check.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Skate instructor coaching certification;
Previous skating instruction or coaching experience;
Previous experience working with children;
Previous experience working in a multi-ethnic setting.

Rate of Pay:
$13.65 – 19.49 per hour - 2016 rates.
Position Conditions: This is a temporary position, and will be offered in accordance with conditions identified in the Collective Agreement between the City of Brandon and CUPE Local 69.
