Assiniboine Community College strives to create Exceptional Learning Experiences for our students. We place a high priority on student success and are committed to building an environment that creates and supports a high level of student engagement.
Be Passionate. If you are enthusiastic about the Carpentry trade and feel you are ready to share your knowledge with others, this may be the right fit. Students enjoy hands-on experience which goes along with our “learn by doing” philosophy. We prepare students to enter the carpentry trade by engaging them in a variety of intriguing lessons with a broad mix of industry fundamentals.
Take Initiative. Instructors of Assiniboine Community College provide exceptional learning experiences for students. We achieve this through in-class lectures and in-shop demonstrations and projects and in the development and revision of current industry curriculum. Our instructors provide leadership and mentoring to our students.
Deliver Results. To deliver the essential program results, you will have at minimum a inter-provincial (Red Seal) Journeyperson Carpentry certification combined with several current years (5+ years preferred) of varied industry experience. Industry experience that includes shop environments with cabinets and millwork would be an asset. You will have excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Experience teaching in an adult environment is not a requirement of this position; we teach you how to teach.
